Air Astana is the principal airline and the flag carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It operates scheduled domestic and international services on 64 routes from its main hub, Almaty International Airport, and from its secondary hub, Astana International Airport. It is a joint venture between Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth fund Samruk-Kazyna (51%) and BAE Systems PLC (49%). It was incorporated in October 2001 and started commercial flights on 15 May 2002.

Pregnancy rules in Air Astana

• Expectant mothers can travel in Air Astana upto 22 weeks without providing a medical certificate.
• For single pregnancy, after 22 weeks until 34 weeks should provide a medical certificate which states that a pregnant mother is fit to travel.
• For multiple pregnancy, after 22 weeks until 32 weeks should provide a medical certificate which states that a pregnant mother is fit to travel.
• The validity of the certificate is 30 days.
• Expectant mothers should come at check-in as earlier as possible (preferably to check-in opening time).
